Shiver

I wanted to say good-bye
this time
but ended up letting out a sigh!
I knew that I was going to get cold
again
I knew that I wanted to get warm
again
I knew that I wanted to feel alive
again
I knew that phone was not going to ring
with someone on the other side
saying things that I wanted to hear
Oh the fear
Of never being able to say good-bye
Of forever being a part of this cycle
I understand that there will still be the cool air
that passes in between
I understand that even after the heart beat slows down
I will still shiver
